UX/UI Study Case

This is a study case of UX and UI Design for problem solving and analysis. During the pandemic in 2021, my team and I explored the possibility of renting clothing online through an app. My role is one of UX and UI Designer focusing on payment method flow. This study case took us approximately 2 weeks from ideation to hi-fidelity prototyping.

Problem Statement

  1. To design the flow to ensure users rent the desired clothing.
  2. To ensure the condition of the clothes

Design Process

We used the As Is Scenario by defining what steps are needed to complete a transaction.

In order to find a suitable solution, we break down the problems into smaller and smaller subproblems, then we decide on which problems were worth exploring further.

Solution

The obtained solutions are then implemented into the design and flow of the application. In this section, I will focus on the payment method. The solutions I came up with were:

  1. Insurance for the clothes
  2. Booking a 30-minute trial period for the user to assess whether the article of clothing is suitable.

Lesson Learned

This small project was a fun and interesting challenge. It taught me how to colaborate design thinking as well as how to communicate my ideas and thought with the rest of the team.

Respecting each other’s ideas is the first step to finding the right solution. The problems that in the beginning seem far too large or complex to be solved can have its solutions found out at the end through long brainstorming sessions with the team.
